How to add Jane App online bookings to an Australian clinic website
Jane's Book Online buttons are links, not an iframe: they take the patient to your clinic's own address on Jane's hosted booking site. Jane is headquartered in North Vancouver, Canada, prices in USD, and lists its customers as being in Canada, the US and the UK, not Australia, and its public help centre does not state where an Australian clinic's data is stored.

- Method
- Hosted booking site reached by a Book Online button or link (Jane's embed codes are HTML link buttons, not iframes)
- On mobile
- Because Book Online is a normal link, not an iframe, there is no scroll-inside-scroll risk on a phone. The one thing worth testing is button placement: with several practitioner specific buttons on one page, keep the primary Book Online button above the fold on a phone screen rather than relying on scrolling to find it.
- Can you track bookings?
- Partly. Jane's Book Online buttons are ordinary links, so there is no iframe cross domain problem to patch around, unlike an embedded widget. The trade off is that patients leave your domain for Jane's own booking site, which needs its own, separate GA4 property. Jane's own guide flags that the original visitor's marketing source does not automatically carry over, and points to Google's general cross domain documentation rather than a Jane specific fix.
Add Jane bookings to any website builder
- In Jane, with Full Access, go to Settings and find the section called Book Online Buttons. Jane generates a separate button for your clinic's main booking page, for each practitioner, and for each location if you have more than one, plus practitioner and location combinations.
- Copy the HTML snippet for the button you want and paste it into your website's source (a Custom HTML block in WordPress, an Embed element in most other builders).
- If your website builder does not accept raw HTML, most builders, including Wix and Squarespace, have their own Add Button option: create the button, then paste in the plain booking URL rather than the HTML snippet.
- You can also generate a private booking link (Jane's guide for creating one covers hidden locations you do not want publicly listed) if you want to share a link that is not on the main website.
- Publish, then click every Book Online button on the site to confirm it lands on the correct practitioner, location or service before sending traffic to it.
Track the bookings
- Create a new GA4 property just for the Jane booking site and set a key event on the /appointments confirmation page.
- Read our Jane bookings tracking guide for how to keep the original ad or search source when the patient jumps from your site to Jane's.
A link, not an embed: what that changes
Jane's own guide describes its Book Online buttons as "embed codes," but in practice they are HTML link buttons: snippets you paste into a page that, when clicked, send the patient to your clinic's booking site, a separate address hosted by Jane. That is different from Cliniko or Halaxy's iframe, where the booking calendar sits visually inside your own page.
The upside is that Jane's own analytics setup does not need a workaround script the way an iframe based booking widget does, because the booking flow is a normal page navigation rather than content trapped inside a frame. The downside is the same one Cliniko warns about from a different angle: once the patient has left your domain, keeping track of which ad, search term or social post sent them there takes deliberate work, covered in our Jane bookings tracking guide.
Jane is a Canadian company: what that means for an Australian clinic
Jane is headquartered in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Its pricing page lists prices in USD only, with no AUD option, and its contact page describes its customers as being spread across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, without mentioning Australia. None of that stops an Australian clinic from using Jane day to day: its booking, scheduling and invoicing features work regardless of currency or country.
What it does mean is that you should not assume Jane's public pages will answer an Australian specific question, including where patient booking data is stored and processed. Jane's security and trust pages describe SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI DSS compliance but do not publish a data centre location on the pages available to the public. Before putting an Australian clinic's booking data through Jane, ask Jane directly, through its Data Processing Addendum or its support team, where that data is hosted and processed, rather than assuming it is answered on the marketing site.
Getting the right button on the right page
A clinic with more than one practitioner or location ends up with a matrix of buttons: one for the clinic overall, one per practitioner, and a further one per practitioner and location combination if you run more than one site. Jane generates all of these from the same Settings screen, and it is easy to paste the wrong one, sending a patient looking for your Ipswich clinic to a Brisbane practitioner's calendar instead.
Treat the button matrix as a checklist: work down your website page by page, confirm which practitioner and location that page is actually about, and paste the matching button rather than reusing whichever code you copied first.
