Integration

Does Cliniko integrate with MYOB?

No. Cliniko's own accounting integration connects to Xero; Cliniko's help centre and connected apps directory do not list MYOB as a supported accounting partner. Practices on MYOB have three real options: export Cliniko data as a CSV and enter it into MYOB manually, connect the two through a third party automation platform, or move the clinic's accounting to Xero, which Cliniko already supports natively.

What does not sync

  • Anything automatic between Cliniko and MYOB without a third party tool in the middle. There is no native connection to disconnect or troubleshoot; it does not exist.
  • Treatment notes, appointments and clinical records in any of these options. All three routes are about invoices and financial data, not clinical information.
  • Ongoing reconciliation convenience if you choose the manual CSV route. Each export has to be checked and entered by hand every time, with the same risk of a typo or a missed row as any manual bookkeeping process.

Start by ruling out the wrong assumption

Cliniko has one native accounting integration, and it goes to Xero. Cliniko's help centre does not have a MYOB setup guide, and MYOB does not appear alongside Xero, Stripe, Mailchimp and the other apps in Cliniko's connected apps directory. A clinic on MYOB is not missing a setting somewhere; there is genuinely nothing to switch on.

That is a real constraint for a practice that already has its bookkeeper set up in MYOB, has historical data there, or simply prefers it. The three options below are what is actually available, not what Cliniko markets as an integration.

Manual export is the lowest risk, highest effort option

Cliniko's export feature, available to Administrator users and in a limited form to the Bookkeeper role, produces a CSV of the data you choose. Cliniko's help centre notes two format options, both CSV files, with the Spreadsheet version keeping long numbers such as invoice or patient IDs readable rather than converted into scientific notation. That export can be reshaped and imported into MYOB, but it is a manual step every reporting period, and it inherits whatever effort your bookkeeper already puts into cleaning CSV data before it reaches MYOB.

A third party connector, or moving to Xero

Automation and integration platforms outside Cliniko and MYOB advertise a connection between the two, built against Cliniko's API rather than anything Cliniko or MYOB support directly. That can work, but it carries the same caveat as any third party connector: if it breaks after either platform changes something, the fix depends on that outside provider, not Cliniko support.

The option that removes the gap entirely is moving the clinic's accounting to Xero, since that is the integration Cliniko actually built and maintains, with invoices pushed across as soon as they are created and payments once allocated. For a practice already unhappy with double handling between Cliniko and MYOB, that is worth weighing against the cost of migrating an existing MYOB file.
