Cliniko

Pick Cliniko if you want one flat band that does not move with headcount within a tier, particularly at 2 to 5 or 9 to 12 practitioners, and you have no need for a bundled AI note-taking add-on.

PracSuite

Pick PracSuite if you already run a HICAPS or Tyro EFTPOS terminal alongside online claiming, want a paid guided setup package, or want an AI notes add-on billed per practitioner rather than included.

What it costs

Cliniko bills in USD; PracSuite bills in AUD excluding GST. Neither figure has been converted to the other's currency; the real AUD cost of Cliniko depends on the exchange rate on your billing date. PracSuite figures assume full-time practitioners throughout.. Prices captured 25 Sep 2026 from Cliniko and PracSuite.

Declared bias and what this page is for

FFP Digital builds websites and online booking and tracking setups for physio and allied health clinics, and we work with whichever practice software a clinic already runs. We are not a reseller for Cliniko or PracSuite and neither pays us for this page. PracSuite is built around a tiered per-practitioner rate rather than Cliniko's flat bands, so this page works through both models with your own headcount in mind.

A flat tier against a headcount-wide bracket

Cliniko holds its price flat across a range: 2 to 5 practitioners all pay US$95. PracSuite's first practitioner costs $84 AUD a month, and PracSuite's own pricing page states that every additional practitioner is priced according to the total number of practitioners at the practice, not stacked individually. At 5 to 9 total practitioners the additional-practitioner rate is $44 AUD a month full time; at 10 to 19 it drops to $42 AUD. Working that through: 1 practitioner is $84; 5 practitioners is $84 plus 4 practitioners at the 5 to 9 band's $44, for $260; 10 practitioners is $84 plus 9 practitioners at the 10 to 19 band's $42, for $462. All figures assume full-time practitioners; PracSuite's part-time rates are lower.

Where PracSuite's claiming setup differs

Both tools route Medicare and DVA claiming through the Tyro Health integration, so the underlying claiming rail is the same. PracSuite's help centre describes two paths: Tyro Health Online for virtual Medicare and DVA claims, and a physical HICAPS or Tyro EFTPOS terminal for card payments and health fund claims, noting most practices keep using their existing terminal alongside the online integration. Cliniko's help centre documents Tyro Health for Medicare, DVA and health fund claims without describing a separate terminal path. A practice already running a HICAPS terminal for health fund claims may find PracSuite's setup closer to what it already does.

Setup cost and AI notes

PracSuite's pricing page lists an optional guided setup package at $395 AUD including GST, covering three one-hour Zoom sessions, and a PracSuite AI add-on at $48 AUD a month per full-time practitioner or $28 AUD part-time, with a free 30-day trial on activation. Cliniko's pricing page does not list a paid setup package or a separate AI add-on; its clinical note templates and telehealth are included in every tier.

Common complaints and catches

Cliniko

  • Priced in US dollars only, so the AUD cost moves with the exchange rate on your billing date
  • No bundled AI note-taking add-on or paid guided setup package listed on its pricing page

PracSuite

  • Every additional practitioner is priced at the practice's total headcount band, so growth can move the whole team's rate at once
  • The AI notes add-on and guided setup are both extra costs on top of the subscription

Switching between them

Patient records, appointments and billable items typically move by CSV export and import; check PracSuite's or Cliniko's help centre for the exact fields each accepts before you start. Reconnect Tyro Health, keep your HICAPS or Tyro terminal set up under the new vendor if you use one, and rebuild your online booking embed on your website before switching off the old account.

FFP Digital is a ServiceM8 developer and builds for Cliniko clinics. We have tried to be fair; prices are the vendors' own published figures on the date shown.
