Tradify vs simPRO: what changes as your crew grows to 8
Tradify Pro costs $171.60 a month for a 3 person crew and $457.60 for 8, GST included, since every added person pays the same rate again. simPRO publishes no price at any crew size, only a sales quote. Tradify
Stay on Tradify if your 8 person crew mainly needs jobs, quotes, photos and compliance forms, and you would rather know your exact monthly cost than sit through a sales quote.
simPRO
Move to simPRO if you have hit a real ceiling on project costing, stock control or multi company reporting that Tradify's Plus tier does not cover, and you are prepared to get a quote to find out if the trade-off is worth it.

What growing from 3 to 8 costs on Tradify
Tradify bills per user, so its cost scales in a straight line with headcount. Pro, the plan most crews compare once they need recurring jobs, job photos and compliance forms, lists at $52 a month per person before GST. A 3 person crew pays $171.60 a month with GST added; grow to 8 and that becomes $457.60. Every person you add costs exactly the same amount again, with no volume discount published anywhere on Tradify's pricing page.
What simPRO offers instead, without a number
simPRO does not publish a price at 3 users, 8 users, or any other size. Its pricing page shows one base plan by feature, project costing, real time inventory and purchasing, multi company support, with a Request Pricing button in place of a figure. Firms that outgrow a simple per user tool often look at simPRO specifically because of that project and stock depth, not because it is cheaper. Whether it actually is cheaper than Tradify at 8 users is not something either company's website will tell you; you would need a quote from simPRO to compare it honestly against $457.60.
The real growth question
The more useful question for a Tradify shop nearing 8 people is not simPRO's unpublished price, it is what you are actually running into on Tradify itself: are you hitting a feature ceiling, like project costing or stock control, that Tradify's Plus tier does not cover, or is it simply that paying per head is starting to feel expensive as headcount grows? If it is the feature ceiling, simPRO's quote is worth getting. If it is mainly the per head cost, ServiceM8's published, job volume based pricing is worth checking too, since it prices by how much work you do rather than how many people you employ, and might turn out to be the middle option between a per user tool and a quote only one.

Switching between them
Moving from Tradify to simPRO is rarely a straight CSV import for anything beyond customers and price list items, since simPRO's project and stock structure is deeper than Tradify's job records. Plan for a proper data export from Tradify and a rebuild of job templates, checklists and stock categories in simPRO once you have a quote and implementation timeline confirmed, rather than expecting your Tradify history to carry across automatically.
