Halaxy pricing: what the free plan covers and where the fees are
Halaxy's core practice management platform has no monthly subscription, for one practitioner or a hundred. The real charges are card processing at 1.5% to 1.9% plus 75 cents to $1, and credits from $0.15 to $0.22 (GST inclusive) for SMS, e-scripts and funding body claims. Halaxy
The free core suits any clinic that is not yet automating card payments, SMS reminders or online claiming; once you turn those on, model the per-transaction and per-credit costs against a flat-fee competitor before you assume Halaxy is cheaper.
What it costs
AUD. Credits are GST inclusive by Halaxy's own statement; GST treatment for card processing fees is not stated separately. What this page is checking, and why
FFP Digital builds websites and online booking and tracking setups for physio and allied health clinics. We are not a Halaxy reseller and nothing here is paid placement: "free" is the headline on Halaxy's own pricing page, and this page goes looking for where the actual bill turns up, using the figures that page publishes.
What free actually includes
Halaxy's core platform, the calendar, patient records, over 700 clinical tools and templates, clinical invoicing, financial reporting and file storage, carries no subscription fee, no sign up cost and no credit card requirement, whether you run 1 practitioner or 10. That is a genuinely different model from every tiered, per-practitioner competitor on this site: your headcount alone does not move the bill.
Where the fees turn up instead
Two meters replace the subscription. The first is card payment processing, priced on Halaxy's page as 1.5% to 1.9% of the transaction plus 75 cents to $1, on its Bronze and Silver bands: this scales with the dollar value you process through Halaxy, not with your practitioner count, though a bigger clinic usually processes more. The second is a credit system, priced at $0.15 to $0.22 a credit including GST, spent on SMS reminders, e-scripts, telehealth, secure messaging, AI Scribe and submitting funding body claims (Medicare, DVA, ECLIPSE, TAC, HICAPS, Workcover, Comcare and NDIS are all listed as credit-funded). A handful of advanced features, two way calendar sync, white label branding, the Halaxy API and a dedicated practice phone number, sit behind a subscription "starting from 25 credits per month", which by Halaxy's own per-credit range works out to roughly $3.75 to $5.50 a month; that is our arithmetic on Halaxy's published numbers, not a figure Halaxy states directly.
What we could not confirm
Halaxy's pricing page gives ranges rather than single numbers for both the processing fee and the credit price, and does not say what pushes an account from the Bronze band to the Silver band, or list a per-message SMS cost distinct from the general credit range. Confirm your exact rate with Halaxy before you budget against it.

Switching to or from it
Moving onto Halaxy, its help centre covers importing patient and appointment data; check what your current vendor's export includes before you start, since Halaxy's free tier removes the cost pressure to migrate quickly. Moving off Halaxy, export your patient records and financial reports first and close out any pending credit-funded claims, since those do not travel with a CSV export.
