Nookal
Essentials suits a practice with a light Medicare claiming volume that wants the lower flat rate; Professional suits one submitting enough Medicare claims that the included claiming offsets the extra $10 a practitioner; Enterprise suits a multi-location group needing custom integrations and SLA support.

What this page is checking, and why
FFP Digital builds websites and online booking and tracking setups for physio and allied health clinics. We are not a Nookal reseller and nothing here is paid placement: the figures below are taken directly from Nookal's own pricing and features pages.
Three tiers, one flat per-head rate within each
Nookal Essentials is AUD $49 a practitioner a month, and Professional is AUD $59 a practitioner a month, both plus GST calculated separately on Nookal's pricing page. Neither tier gives a volume discount for extra headcount: the bill scales in a straight line, so 5 practitioners on Essentials costs 5 times the $49 rate. Enterprise sits above both, priced by quote, and adds multi-account management, custom integrations, API access and SLA-backed support for groups running several practices under one arrangement.
What Professional buys you over Essentials
The clearest difference Nookal's pricing page sets out is Medicare claiming: it is included free within Professional, while Essentials charges a small per-claim fee. For a practice submitting a meaningful volume of Medicare claims each month, that alone can offset the $10 a practitioner gap between the two tiers.
Add ons that sit outside the base plan
Nookal's pricing page lists several paid add ons on top of the practitioner subscription: AI and Voice at $25 per active licence a month, a Patient Portal from $10 per active location a month, Secure Messaging from $1.50 per user a month, SMS from $0.07 per outbound message, and Medicare claims from $0.10 per claim (waived on Professional). A practice budgeting for Nookal should treat these as separate line items rather than assume the base subscription covers them, since a clinic running several add ons at once can end up paying noticeably more than the headline per-practitioner figure suggests once every licence and location is counted.
Common complaints and catches
Nookal
- A flat per-practitioner rate means the bill grows in a straight line as you add staff, with no volume discount described
- Several features (AI, Patient Portal, Secure Messaging, SMS, Medicare claims on Essentials) are priced as separate add-ons rather than included in the base rate
Switching to or from it
Moving onto Nookal, its onboarding covers importing patient, appointment and billing data from most major practice management systems; check what your current vendor's export includes before you start. Moving off Nookal, export patient records and financial reports first, and reconnect any Medicare, DVA, NDIS or HICAPS claiming integration under the new vendor before cancelling.
